Humber Grain Limited, the forward-thinking grain trading business, has announced its newly appointed Grain Trader and Marketing Agent, Marc Rogerson.
Full Story:
Marc Rogerson joins the business following a 20-year career specialising in agricultural commodity markets, with trading roles at Nidera UK Ltd, Gleadell Agriculture Ltd (now ADM Agriculture) and most recently Frontier Agriculture. He most recently spent two years as Oilseed Trading Head for Frontier and Cargill UK. The insight provided by these previous appointments has allowed Marc to consolidate a valuable understanding of the Global agricultural markets.
Humber Grain has bucked the trend of the corporate merchants, by continuing to offer a personal service with on-farm sampling and analysis of member’s grain.
Humber Grain Ltd was formed in 1982 by a group of forward-thinking Lincolnshire farmers with the sole aim of gaining additional value for their own produce. From this modest beginning Humber Grain now provides a unique marketing service throughout Lincolnshire and Yorkshire. Unlike the corporate merchants, Humber Grain continues to offer a personal service with on-farm sampling and analysis of member’s grain. In addition, the Marketing Agent is always available to provide independent, objective advice.
Marc will report into Philip Wynn, Chairman, and the Humber Grain Board of Directors (Paul Arden, Edward Mossop, Andrew Jackson, Paul Strawson, Struan Abbott and Hannah Haigh).
Marc has gathered a wealth of experience and knowledge and is excited to now be part of the new chapter with Humber Grain Ltd. He is extremely passionate about agriculture, he loves farming, Lincolnshire, and the interesting, ever-changing world of agricultural commodity markets.
Commenting on the appointments, Philip Wynn says:
"I am so delighted that Marc has joined Humber Grain as our new marketing agent. At a time when the grain sector is consolidating, we want to keep and develop our personal service for farmers in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire. With the immense uncertainty of Brexit and changing Agricultural policy Marc will enable us to provide a level of support and performance which is second to none".
Marc Rogerson comments:
"I am delighted to be joining Humber Grain Limited. The opportunity to work with growers and to assist them in this challenging marketplace is an exciting one for me. The company is well set up with strong foundations and an active and experienced board. Farmer’s should be helping farmers and that is the priority of Humber Grain. I am looking forward to using my skills and expertise to assist growers in the East Midlands and Yorkshire."
